About this program

Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences

The Degree in Physical Activity Sciences and Sport is a four-year programme, offered in English or in Spanish, which has the aim of preparing students to become learning professionals in the world of fitness and health, either on the management side or as a coach. The Sport Science degree, which has a total of 240 ECTS, has been recognised nationally and internationally - it was included in both the Shanghai Ranking 2022 and the El Mundo Ranking 2022.

Students on this programme will have access to the finest sports facilities on offer at any private university in Spain: a fully-equipped and modern sports centre with swimming pools and athletics track, physio rooms with the latest equipment, and human research labs. We are the only bachelor’s programme in Spain that is internationally accredited by the European Health & Fitness Association.

Admission requirements

Students who wish to study this Degree must be highly motivated and, as far as possible, have had previous direct or indirect experience with physical-sporting activity. Both aspects are required as a consequence of the intense practical workload that these studies entail, as well as the vocational component that they often entail. Students wishing to study the Bachelor's degree in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences at the Universidad Europea de Madrid must meet the legal requirements for access to the University as set forth in current legislation. There are no additional academic requirements.

Entry requirements

Students can access the degree studies according to the access routes set forth in RD 1892/2008, of 14 November and current applicable legislation, specifically:

  • Obtain a pass mark in the University Entrance Examination, in compliance with current legislation.
  • Obtain a pass mark in the entrance exams for the over-25s and over-45s.
  • Higher Technicians and Higher Sports Technicians.
  • Graduates, Technical Engineers, Engineers and Architects.
  • High school students from education systems of European Union Member States and other countries with which international agreements have been signed in this respect may access the Degree provided that they have access to university in their education system, and that they comply with the provisions of the regulations in force.
  • Students from other countries who do not have a signed international agreement must have their studies recognised and take the university entrance exam(s) if required in compliance with RD 412/2014.

Credits:240 ECTS

  • CB1: Students must have demonstrated knowledge and understanding in an area of study that is at the core of general secondary education and is often at a level that, although supported by advanced textbooks, also includes some aspects that imply knowledge from the cutting-edge of their field of study.
  • CB2: Students must know how to apply their knowledge to their work or vocation in a professional way and possess the competences that are usually demonstrated through the development and defence of arguments and problem-solving within their area of study.
  • CB3: Students must have the ability to gather and interpret relevant data—usually within their area of study—to make judgments that include a reflection on relevant social, scientific or ethical issues.
  • CB4: Students must be able to convey information, ideas, problems and solutions to both specialist and non-specialist audiences.
  • CB5: Students must have developed those learning skills necessary to undertake further studies with a high degree of autonomy.
