Master in Data Science For Finance
The key aim of the teaching in this Double Degree is to provide students with the tools needed to solve real problems, using structured and unstructured data masses, teaching them to ask the ‘right’ questions (both from statistics, ‘business’ and finance perspectives) and to use the appropriate mathematical and IT tools, and methodology to answer these questions.

This program is a double degree offered jointly by Ecole Polytechnique and HEC Paris, combining over two years the academic expertise of the best engineering school in France and the best business school in France.
Admission requirements
Prerequisites:
- English Level: C1
- Bachelor in Data Science, Engineering, Business or Economics
- Good level of mathematics
The MSc & T programmes are open to high-level candidates applying to a first (M1) or second year (M2) of master:
M1 CANDIDATE’S PROFILE:
- Hold a bachelor degree of at least three years having obtained 180 ECTS with a solid background in science and/or engineering. Please see the specific academic requirements by programmeon our website.
- Applicants may apply in the same year they obtain their degree.
- English proficiency: IELTS (academic) 6.5, TOEFL 90.
- French language proficiency is not required.
M2 CANDIDATE’S PROFILE:

Program content
Year 1 at Ecole Polytechnique:
The First year of the program at Ecole Polytechnique, offers students a complete training on data science, during this period you will study probability, statistics, regression, classification, and more specialized modules like optimization, machine learning or deep learning.
The latest, with a practical training on programming languages like "Python" and "R" .
You will also delve in Financial Markets and numerical processing of Financial Data.
Year 2 at HEC Paris:
During your second year, you will join the Master in Finance program at HEC, which has been at the top of the world rankings by the Financial Times for over a decade now. After a generalist first semester, where we will train you on the full spectrum of fields in Finance, both Corporate Finance and Financial Markets, you will join during the second semester an elective concentration dedicated to Data and Finance, with courses covering new frontiers such as Blockchain technology, Algorithms and AI applied to Finance, as well as Technology Regulation in the Financial Sector.
Tuition
The cost of this course is €22,460 per year + €110 application fee.
Qualification
Graduates of this program will earn a master's degree in Data Science for Finance.
