Program content

Accounting

This course is designed to give students a level of understanding of accounting and accounting principles that is necessary to effectively manage businesses. Prior knowledge is not required. The course won’t make students technical accounting experts, but at the end of it, participants will be able to interpret balance sheets, income statements, and other financial documents. It will equip students to confidently engage with accounting experts.

Analytics (Business Statistics)

The course aims to enhance each student’s ability to apply modern statistical methodologies to decision-making. It is a practical course that will involve the use of Excel to illustrate how to apply the methodologies that will be taught. The course is multidisciplinary with links to accounting, economics, finance, marketing, and operations management. The course will teach you how to forecasts trends, how to understand statistical principles, and how to predict the risks that are associated with taking different managerial actions.

Fundamentals of Leadership

The aim of this course to prepare students to become responsible leaders capable of effectively leading in a variety of organizations. The course will teach students how to influence with and without formal authority. The course will include some reflection exercises along with readings that will enlighten students on they can become more responsible and effective as leaders.

Corporations and Markets

The aim of this course is to teach the fundamentals of microeconomics, and the develop students’ understandings of the importance of economics to business. The course will help students build a very important understanding of how corporations and markets interact. Students will learn about supply and demand, the nature of competition, pricing methodologies, and other economic concepts.

Entrepreneurship

This course will familiarize students with the concepts that are foundational to understanding modern entrepreneurship. The main objective of the course is to demystify the entrepreneurial process and to provide students with tools to understand and effectively engage with the world of entrepreneurship. This course teaches a multi-disciplinary approach to entrepreneurship in order to prepare students to lead modern organizations. The social considerations that are important in modern entrepreneurship will be a key aspect of this course.

Marketing

The aim of this course is to familiarize students with strategic concepts central to marketing. The course is designed to further familiarize students with the importance of marketing when trying to increase demand for a business’ goods and services. We will explore how the role of marketers and the methodologies that marketers employ are changing and how technology is changing the way markets work. We will also explore the effectiveness of different marketing channels.

Business Finance

This course is designed to improve each student’s ability to understand the finances of firms. This will help students to interact with senior management, make decisions as senior managers, or even start their own firms. This course will get all its participants more familiar with the central and fundamental concepts in finance.

Operations Management

The aim of this course is to familiarize students with the principles and methodologies central to the management of operations in the modern world. We will explore the importance of operations on efficiency, effectiveness, and organizational success.

Strategy

This course is designed to enlighten students on the immense importance of strategy in the overall success of firms. The course will explore the causes of different levels of organizational performance. We will explore how strategic considerations differ and should differ between different types of organizations. We will also look at how those considerations contribute in varying degrees to success. This overall aim of this course to teach students the importance of looking at the bigger picture and how to do just that.

Entrepreneurial Finance

The aim of this course is to familiarize students with concepts central to entrepreneurial finance. The course will explore the considerations that must be made by entrepreneurs seeking funding and parties interested in supporting entrepreneurial ventures.

Business and Politics

This aim of this course is to familiarize students with the nonmarket considerations that must be made by individuals in more senior positions. The course is designed to teach students how to effectively navigate the politically complex environments in which businesses find themselves.

Project Management

This aim of this course is to introduce students to the fundamental principles of project management. The course will prepare students to lead projects and deal with the challenges associated with managing projects and teams.

Sustainability and Circularity in Business

The aim of this course is to expose students to the key principles and considerations for businesses prioritizing sustainability in the modern world. The course is designed to show students the importance of considering the environment and society at large when making strategic decisions as business leaders.

Reputations, Presentations and Leadership

This course is designed to help students develop a deeper understanding of the importance of reputations and presentations to personal, professional and corporate success. We will explore how reputations are made, how they can contribute to competitive advantage, and how they can be can be affected over time.

The Entrepreneurship Project

This course is designed to give you an opportunity to go through the ideation and exploration process of developing an entrepreneurial idea. The course will allow you to learn to navigate the early stages of the entrepreneurial process. You will explore ideas, hypothesize, test your hypotheses, and develop a pitch deck.
