Master's Degree in Neurobiology
The Master's Degree Program in Neurobiology provides students who are in possession of first level training in the biological or biotechnological field, with in-depth knowledge of the morpho-functional organization of the nervous system, the cellular and molecular correlates of neural functions, and modalities in which these functions are realized at the systemic level, as well as on the neurobiological bases of the pathologies of the nervous system.
The aim of the Course is to allow the acquisition, not only of a cognitive training, but also of specific skills such as:
Modalities governing experimental and applied neurobiological research, regarding its recent trends, and the technologies it relies on
Applications of neurobiological knowledge and techniques in the industrial, bio-system and bioinformatics fields
The primary objective of the training course will be to highlight the fundamental problems in the neuroscientific field (integrated functions, cellular mechanisms, genetic and molecular substrates, bases of pathological processes), underlining the importance of multidisciplinary approaches for the progress of knowledge.

- Neuromorphology and cellular and development neurobiology;
- Neurophysiology and neurobehavior;
- Neuropharmacology;
- Neurogenetic-molecular subjects;
- Neurology and neuropathology;
- Bioinformatics

Admission requirements
Undergraduate diploma (or higher)
Students whose degree has been awarded by a non-Italian University must fulfill the following entry requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Biology or Biotechnology or related subject (Honours, 3 years) or a Bachelors Degree awarded by non-Italian University that it has been evaluated suitable for the admission.
- Students must have a good knowledge of basic Biology topics with particular attention to Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Genetics, Molecular Biology, Pharmacology and Physiology. Candidates must have taken exams in these topics during their BSc.\
- Knowledge of English corresponding at least to a B2 level
The suitability of the Bachelors Degree for the enrollment in the MSc is evaluated by an appointed Committee. Candidates will be required to take an online interview with the Committee on the following topics: Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Genetics, Molecular Biology, Pharmacology and Physiology
The entry qualification documents are accepted in the following languages: English / Italian.

Scholarships & funding
The University of Pavia offers several kinds of scholarships/funding for a sum up to 6.000 euro per year per student.
Tuition
156 – 4000 euro per year. The tuition fee is adjusted to the student’s family’s financial situation. Non-EU students residing abroad and holding a study visa can also choose to pay the flat rate determined according to their citizenship which ranges from 400 euro to 4500 euro per year.
