What is Pre-Professional Health Sciences?

If you’re interested in a career in healthcare, a degree in Pre-Professional Health Sciences, Pre-Chiropractic, Pre-Dentistry, Pre-Medicine, Pre-Physical Therapy, Pre-Physician Assistant, or Pre-Pharmacology from South Dakota Mines will set you up for success.

These health-based programs will prepare you for admission into a variety of graduate and professional programs, including medical and dental schools, physical and occupational therapy programs, physician assistant and chiropractic programs, and optometry and radiography programs.

What does a pre-professional health scientist do?

Pre-professional health science students take rigorous science and math courses from across the curriculum to prepare for admission to graduate and professional programs to prepare for a future in the health sciences.

Our program includes volunteer work in the community and coursework in the humanities and social sciences to help you meet the admissions requirements of health-based professional schools.
